Key Applications & Uses
- Very fast plane grinding of hardened steels, tool steels, high-alloy steels and very hard ferrous materials
- Aggressive grinding of ceramics, technical ceramics, glass, optical materials, minerals and rocks
- Grinding of hard coatings, thermal spray coatings, hard facings, and carbide-containing materials
- Preparation of petrographic thin sections and geological samples (especially hard rock types)
- High-efficiency grinding stage before fine diamond polishing in high-throughput metallographic & materials labs
- Samples requiring extremely high removal rate and/or very long disc lifetime in industrial QA/QC, failure analysis & research
Why Choose from G-Hexa?
- Extremely Fast Grinding Speed — Significantly faster material removal rate compared to conventional abrasives → greatly reduces preparation time
- Very Long Service Life — Nickel bonded diamond offers dramatically longer lifetime than SiC papers or resin bonded diamond foils
- Outstanding Performance on Hard Materials — The best choice when working with very hard, abrasion-resistant, or difficult-to-grind materials
- Excellent Flatness & Planeness — Maintains very good flatness even during heavy stock removal – ideal before fine polishing
- No Clamping Rings Needed — Strong adhesive backing for quick & safe mounting (most users do not need additional clamping)
- Complete G-Hexa System Compatibility — Perfectly matched with G-Hexa grinders, diamond suspensions & following polishing consumables – fast delivery & expert support across India
Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs)
Q: When should I choose DiaNi diamond discs instead of SiC papers or diamond grinding foils? A: Choose DiaNi when you need maximum speed + maximum lifetime and/or you are grinding very hard / very wear-resistant materials (hardened steel, ceramics, glass, minerals, carbides, coatings…).
Q: Which grit should I start with? A: Most common productive starting points are • Grit 80–120 → very fast plane grinding • Grit 200–400 → fast fine grinding after coarse diamond foil
Q: Can I use DiaNi discs for fine grinding / pre-polishing? A: Yes — especially 400 → 800 → 1200 grits give very good fine grinding results and are frequently used as the last grinding step before diamond polishing.
Q: Do I need to use diamond suspension with these discs? A: Not mandatory, but using 9–6–3 μm diamond suspension together with 400–800–1200 discs dramatically increases cutting speed and improves surface quality.
Q: Are DiaNi discs suitable for non-ferrous materials and composites? A: Yes — they work very well on many non-ferrous hard materials (ceramics, glass, minerals, hard composites). For very soft non-ferrous metals (pure Cu, Al, soft solder…) → silicon carbide papers or POS fine grinding discs are often more suitable.
Q: How long does one DiaNi disc typically last? A: Depending on material hardness, load & suspension usage — usually several times longer than conventional SiC paper and frequently longer than standard resin-bond diamond foils.
Q: Can I use these discs on automatic preparation systems? A: Yes — they perform excellently on both manual and automatic grinders/polishers including central force and individual force loading systems.
